Redondo Beach

Redondo Beach is the South Bay community most visited by tourists.

Welcome to Redondo Beach

Great beaches, shops, and dining in South Bay’s largest town.

Redondo Beach is the largest of the three coastal communities that together form LA County’s South Bay area. With great surfing, fishing, shopping, dining, and a distinctive triangular pier, Redondo Beach is the South Bay community most visited by tourists. Its golden sands have been a filming location for several television shows, including “Baywatch.”

Each of Redondo Beach’s south and north neighborhoods has its own distinct character. Most tourism is centered on South Redondo Beach, the location of the city’s beachfront. Real estate within Redondo Beach ranges from classic early-to-mid-century Arts and Crafts properties to lavish modern custom-built homes and spacious townhouses. South Redondo Beach’s Hollywood Riviera neighborhood is named for the many film stars who have lived in the area. Residents there enjoy captivating ocean views from spectacularly designed homes.

There are several commercial areas in Redondo Beach with a wide selection of shops and restaurants. South Bay Galleria in Redondo Beach’s northeast sector is a three-story mall anchored by Kohl's, Macy’s, 16-screen AMC movie theater, and the Wonder of Dinosaurs exhibition. King Harbor in South Redondo Beach is a premier dining destination located close to the pier and the King Harbor Marina. There is delicious fresh seafood at Blue Water Grill and the Shade Hotel’s Sea Level Restaurant and Lounge. You can find authentic seafood-focused Basque cooking at A Basque Kitchen and fresh fish in a casual boardwalk setting at Fun Fish Market. South Redondo Beach’s Riviera Village has more than 300 shops, restaurants, salons, and services nestled between the ocean and the Palos Verdes Hills. If you are in the mood for Italian food, feast on lobster-stuffed pasta at Bettolino Kitchen.

Redondo Beach’s beach is a hot spot for surfing, sunbathing, and beach volleyball. APV volleyball tournaments regularly take place on its sands, and surfing here was immortalized in The Beach Boys’ classic “Surfin’ USA.” Sprawling Redondo Pier has mesmerizing ocean views and cultural events, including a summer concert series.
